Configuring Manual IP Settings
A manually configured public IP is a publicly routable IP address that you enter yourself on your router instead of receiving automatically via DHCP.
You manually set details such as:
IP address
subnet mask / prefix length
gateway
DNS servers
It can be useful for advanced setups, but for most customers, DHCP is recommended because it configures these settings automatically and reduces the chance of mistakes.
We allow you to configure your router manually with IPv4 and IPv6 settings.
To do this, head to the portal, click Manage Service, and go to the Advanced tab. After switching the toggle, you’ll see a modal showing your static IP settings, including the gateway, network mask, and DNS servers.
We genuinely don’t recommend using manual settings unless you have specific requirements.
Manual IPv4 settings
If you select manual IPv6 you'll see a similar pop-up with your IPv6 settings.
Allocating additional IP
Once you switch to Manual IPv4, you can request additional IPv4 addresses.
We don’t offer additional IPv6 allocations in this section because your service already includes a delegated /48 IPv6 prefix. A /48 contains a very large number of /64 networks — 2¹⁶ /64 subnets — which is more than enough for almost all residential and business use cases.
Additional IPv4 addresses are available for $5 per month per address.
To add more IPv4 addresses, head to the Connection tab in the portal, select the quantity you need, and click Apply. Once applied, the new IP addresses will appear in the portal.
The network settings for the additional IPv4 addresses are the same as your main service IP, including the gateway, network mask, and DNS servers.
Billing charges will be prorated to your next invoice.
FAQ
Is the quantity of additional IPs limited?
The quantity is generally not limited. If you need a large number of IPv4 addresses, we may charge you in advance.
Can I keep using DHCP?
DHCP will continue to work for your main service IP only.
If you enable additional IPv4 addresses, we recommend avoiding DHCP and disabling it completely in the Advanced settings to prevent configuration conflicts.
Will additional IPs work without enabling manual settings?
No. Additional IPv4 addresses require Manual IPv4 to be enabled.
Do I need to enable Manual IPv6?
No. You can keep IPv6 as it is. IPv6 will continue to work via DHCPv6.
