Neptune Internet offers a VPN service based on the WireGuard protocol providing up to two free VPN tunnels to Neptune subscribers. Read on and learn how to set up Neptune VPN on your Wireguard app.

Before you begin

This article assumes you have installed the Wireguard app on desktop or mobile. If you don't have Wireguard, you can install it here.

Step 1: Create your Neptune VPN tunnel

From your subscriber portal, navigate to Neptune VPN Service, and click Add VPN Tunnel. After you create a VPN tunnel, you'll see your assigned IPv4 and IPv6 address. This will be your external address when using Neptune VPN.

Step 2: Configure Wireguard

Once your tunnel is created you have a couple of options for importing your configuration to your Wireguard client.

You can either:

  • Scan a QR code from the Wireguard app, or

  • Copy the Wireguard configuration to your clipboard and import manually.

To ensure your privacy and security, Neptune will not store these private keys. This means that after these configurations are generated, you will not be able to access them in your subscriber portal again. If you lose this configuration, you can click Reset Keys to generate a new set of keys.

Step 3: Activate Tunnel and Verify

After importing your configuration, activate the tunnel in Wireguard, confirm tunnel status is "Active" and that your Internet connection works. Visit https://ifconfig.me/ and confirm that your IP address matches your tunnel created in Step 1.
