The Neptune customer portal gives you full control over your service. From billing and support to diagnostics, plan changes, and security features like VPN and Atmosphere DNS, it’s all in one place.
You can access the portal at https://www.neptune.net.au/portal/internet.
Getting Started: Logging In
You have multiple sign-in options:
Sign in using a password or an email verification code.
After your initial sign-up, you’ll be able to configure social logins such as Microsoft, Google, and Apple, as well as hardware security keys and passkeys.
You’ll also be able to set up TOTP codes for two-factor authentication (2FA).
When you go to our portal at https://www.neptune.net.au/portal/internet and click the “Sign in” button, you will be redirected to https://identity.neptune.net.au/login.
You will then be prompted to choose your authentication method.
Please note that social logins will not work the first time. You need to sign in using an email code or password first, then link your social identities.
Please continue reading this article to learn how.
When signing up for the first time please request Email Code or click Recover Account.
Signing Up for the First Time and Account Recovery
When signing up for the first time, you won’t have a password yet. Please enter your email address and request an email code, or click Recover Account.
You should receive a 6-digit code at the email address you used to sign up. If you don’t receive the code, please reach out to our support team.
If you made a typo in your email address, please contact [email protected]
and include your full name, service address, phone number, the last four digits of your payment method, and the correct email address you’d like to use.
Identity Settings
To manage your identity settings, please navigate to https://identity.neptune.net.au/settings. You will be presented with various options, which we’ll discuss in detail below.
You can also access this page via our portal by clicking User Settings → Identity Settings.
Securing your account
To keep your account secure, we recommend avoiding passwords and enabling passkeys on your account. Additionally, we recommend using MFA even if you are using passkeys or social logins.
Passkeys
Passkeys are a secure alternative to passwords. You can manage them similarly to passwords and make them portable by saving them in your preferred password manager.
The key difference is that you don’t need to enter a password each time you sign in, and passkeys cannot be brute-forced, phished, or leaked in the same way traditional passwords can.
To enable a passkey, navigate to https://identity.neptune.net.au/settings
and scroll down to the Passkeys section.
Click Add passkey.
You will be prompted to save the passkey using one of the available methods. Password managers such as Bitwarden, 1Password, and similar apps are supported.
If you experience any issues, please try restarting your web browser.
TOTP Authenticator App
You can use any Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) authenticator app - such as Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, or similar - to generate a rotating code for secure access to your account.
Open an app on your mobile phone. For example Google Authenticator (install the app in App Store or Google Play if you don't have it).
Follow the prompts and click plus button in the right corner.
Scan the QR code as on the screenshot below and then click save.
Hardware Security Keys
You can also use a hardware security key or a built-in device authenticator (such as your laptop, phone, or a YubiKey) that supports the WebAuthn standard.
Give your security key a name (for example, “YubiKey”).
Click Add security key.
Your operating system will then prompt you to confirm the security key.
Sometimes you have an option to save your device, like laptop or iphone as a hardware token.
Using your Apple Touch ID as a token.
Social Logins
To use social logins, you’ll need to link them first. To link a social login, please go to https://identity.neptune.net.au/settings.
Once on the page, navigate to the Connected Accounts section.
Link the social identity you would like to use to sign in to the portal. Once it is linked, the social login will be fully enabled.
Navigating the Dashboard
Once you’re logged in, you’ll be directed to the dashboard, where you can view and manage all aspects of your Neptune subscription, including:
View IPv4 and IPv6 Addresses: Easily access your assigned IP addresses.
View your usage graphs and if your router allows ICMP echo latency graph.
Additionally you can check the session duration and the drop out count.
Service Status: Your service status can be Pending, Active, Away, Paused, or Cancelled.
Active: Indicates that your service is up and running.
Pending: Appears when your service is not yet active or is undergoing modifications. During this time, the service will be locked from updates.
Away Mode: Ideal for maintaining connectivity for smart home devices while you’re away.
Pause and Cancel: Both modes disconnect your service from the NBN. However, Pause mode aims to retain your IP addresses for when you return.
Invoice and Payment Method Update: Use this link to update your payment method or view past invoices. You can also cancel your service here.
Change Plan: Update your plan once daily. Any prepaid amounts will be prorated toward the next invoice.
Away Mode: Set your service to Away Mode for $39.5 a month, including GST, with a speed cap of 10 Mbps for both downloads and uploads. This mode is designed to keep your smart devices online while you’re traveling and is not intended as a standalone plan.
